The story of Tereza Sklovska

Tereza Sklovská is a visual artist and poet whose work explores the boundaries of introspective examination of the human soul, melancholic poetry, and visual expression oscillating between abstraction and precise drawing. Her work stems from deep personal experience, reflecting themes of loss, hope, time, and human fractures that manifest in her painting, literary work, and tattoo art.

Artistic Education and Influence of Mentors

Her first artistic steps were taken at the Art School in Náměšť nad Oslavou under the guidance of academic painter Jan Marie Krejčí, where she became familiar with both craftsmanship and artistic principles. She then continued at the Art and Industrial School Academy in Světlá nad Sázavou, where, as part of her studies in painting, shaping, and glass etching, she experimented with materials and developed an understanding of glass as a medium connecting light, space, and symbolism.

However, the most significant artistic influence came from Professor Petr Stanický, under whose guidance at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, her work shifted significantly towards abstract concepts and visual poetics. Although personal circumstances prevented her from completing her formal education, the experiences gained in this atelier remain a key foundation of her artistic development. Even without an official academic degree, she continues to educate herself and develop her artistic thinking through intensive work and an interdisciplinary approach.

She expresses deep gratitude to all her mentors for their guidance, inspiration, and support during critical stages of her artistic evolution. Each one has left an indelible mark on her work and contributed to shaping her artistic identity.

Literary Creation: Poetry as an Introspective Journey

Writing poetry is a deeply personal and almost ritualistic process for her. Her texts carry a strong melancholic thread while striving to find a delicate balance between darkness and hope. In her poetry, she reflects not only her own experiences but also the atmosphere of the times she lives in—a time of fleeting relationships, emotional instability, and the search for authenticity. Her poetry is an introspective journey where words become a bridge between personal experience and the universal human condition.

A key aspect of her literary work is the connection between the written word and visual art. Her poems are often accompanied by her paintings, creating a complex artistic dialogue between language, color, and space.

Visual Art: Fractures as a Record of Human Experience

Tereza Sklovská has long explored the theme of fractures—both symbolic and physical—in her painting. Her works frequently depict abstract structures evoking erosion, decay, yet also the delicate beauty of transience. She employs random processes, allowing the medium to react independently before she intervenes, guiding it through meticulous drawing or structural intervention.

Her color palette oscillates between cool tones evoking temporal distance and warm golden elements that symbolize fleeting hope and spiritual dimensions. The theme of time and its fragmentation is also present in her series of paintings connecting history and modern technologies, thus bridging the past with the present.

Her works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, earning respect from the professional art community.

Tattooing: Art as a Deeply Personal Mark

She perceives tattooing as an intimate form of art that allows her to merge her visual sensibility with the personal stories of her clients. Her tattoo work follows the same artistic handwriting as her paintings—delicate linework, detailed structure, and a focus on individual symbolism. Each tattoo is treated as a unique visual imprint carrying profound significance for its bearer.

When working with clients, she prioritizes the consultation process, collaboratively seeking the ideal form of visual storytelling. Her approach is rooted in respect, silent understanding, and a strong sense of responsibility for the trust people place in her. For this reason, she is strictly bound by confidentiality and ethical principles, which she considers fundamental to her practice.

Different Worlds by Sklovská as a Fusion of Artistic Disciplines

The Different Worlds by Sklovská project, under which Tereza Sklovská merges her painting, poetry, and tattooing, is a manifestation of her artistic journey. It is a concept that reflects not only her personal life experiences but also universal themes of human existence.

She believes that art can be a medium for deep introspection, communication, and connection between people. Her work oscillates between visual poetry, experimental approaches to painting, and intimate stories of those who choose to have her art inscribed onto their skin.

Although her path has not always followed a straight line, her determination and constant pursuit of truth in both art and life have led her to develop a uniquely authentic artistic expression. Different Worlds by Sklovská is not just a brand or project; it is an organic platform through which she shares her world with others.
